Uganda's relief is real. The outbreak behind it isn't slowing.

1️⃣ UGANDA'S EBOLA RELIEF IS REAL. DRC'S OUTBREAK JUST BECAME ITS WORST EVER

The UAE eased its Ebola-related visa and entry curbs on Ugandans on 26 Sep, citing Uganda's completed monitoring period; DRC and South Sudan stay restricted (NCEMA/MoHAP/ICP via Khaleej Times, 26 Sep). Good news — but the outbreak behind every restriction is DRC's, not Uganda's, and WHO's 25 Sep Disease Outbreak News shows it worsening: 7,890 confirmed cases, 3,799 deaths (48.1% CFR) as of 23 Sep, now the largest Ebola outbreak DRC has ever recorded, spreading into two more health zones, one bordering South Sudan (WHO DON618). WHO's own advice: no travel or trade restriction is warranted. Canada, the US and UAE aren't following it — and Canada's own border-measures page, unchanged since 9 Sep, still shows a hard 28 Sep, 23:59 EDT expiry with no successor posted when we checked this afternoon (canada.ca).

What everyone is missing. Every restriction that reaches your guests — Canada's 21-day quarantine, the US Title 42 order to 11 Oct — is keyed to DRC's outbreak status, not Uganda's. Uganda easing is not the start of a regional wind-down; DRC's numbers just got worse.
