Tanzania is still banned from EU skies. Much of the trade has been told otherwise for a year.

1️⃣ TANZANIA IS STILL ON THE EU BAN LIST. THE TRADE THINKS IT ISN'T.
The Commission's 48th update of the EU Air Safety List (DG MOVE, 9 June 2026) still bans every Tanzanian-certified airline — one of 16 states listed for inadequate regulator oversight, not aircraft faults. Kyrgyzstan came off the same list entirely, so it is a two-way door. Yet ATTA's library still carries "Tanzanian Airlines to Resume Flights to Europe After EU Safety Ban Lifted", 15 September 2025, sourced to Tuko. Wrong then, still circulating. Separately, TCAA posted a notice headlined "TCAA and EU reaffirm commitment to strengthen aviation safety oversight" (tcaa.go.tz, 4 September 2026; seen 06:23 EAT, no press coverage found). The notice exists — the page would not render for us, so we make no claim on its contents.
🎯 So what: the ban is on the authority, not the fleet, and guests will not draw that line for you. Put one written sentence in your agent sheet saying domestic Tanzanian flights are unaffected — and stop the "ban lifted" story where you find it.

2️⃣ ARUSHA GOES 24 HOURS — THE COMPULSORY OVERNIGHT ENDS
ATCL chief executive Eng. Peter Ulanga says Arusha Airport begins round-the-clock operations within two weeks, after a lighting upgrade cleared night flights (Daily News Tanzania, 2 September 2026). Daily capacity rises from about 200 passengers to 300, on Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar routes. The stated purpose is evening safari arrivals: guests no longer need to sleep in Arusha before continuing. It is also positioned for Tanzania's co-hosting of AFCON 2027.
🎯 So what: Arusha town has sold a captive night for years. From mid-September that night is optional, and same-day bush-to-beach moves it to Zanzibar. Rebuild the Arusha rate case on a reason to stay — this month.

3️⃣ TURKANA GETS A TEN-YEAR PLAN AND A FUNDED PARTNER
KWS formalised a management partnership with Archipelagus on 29 August 2026 covering Sibiloi and Central Island National Parks (KWS press release, Aug 2026; via ATTA, 3 September). It anchors the Lake Turkana National Parks Management Plan 2026–2036 across more than 6,000 km² of parks and community rangelands, currently on UNESCO's "In Danger" list. First moves: a Sibiloi headquarters, a joint operations centre, ranger outposts on real-time monitoring. Later: grassland restoration, phased reintroduction of reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra and black rhino, and nature-based tourism.
🎯 So what: Kenya's emptiest circuit just got a decade-long plan and a funded partner, with almost no bed stock in it. Read it if you are looking at concessions. Do not put Turkana in a brochure yet.
