Justice Olel at the High Court in Marsabit dismissed the petition on 7 Oct, holding Gazette Notice 11492 (30 Jul) valid (Eastleigh Voice, 7 Oct; Court Helicopter, 9 Oct). The UK FCDO now says eTA applicants must buy travel health insurance from 5 Oct (FCDO Kenya, updated 9 Oct). The portal sells a US$44 policy (US$52 at VisasNews's test checkout), also bought at insurance.ecitizen.go.ke (VisasNews, 7 Oct). Unresolved: foreign policies, older ETAs, any appeal.
Our inference: a Kenya–Tanzania itinerary now carries two US$44 charges, as Tanzania mainland has required one since 1 Oct.
🎯 So what: stop quoting Kenya packages without it. Add a US$44 per-guest line, tell agents to buy before travel, and price it into 2027 net rates.

2️⃣ Kenya's Public Health PS has suspended all government meetings and seminars in hotels

A memo from PS Mary Muthoni dated 7 Oct suspends them "with immediate effect" and "until further notice"; exceptions need her office's approval (Kenyans.co.ke, 10 Oct). No booking count is published. The contact picture moved too: Health CS Duale said 57 contacts were identified and 66 were being quarantined at the National Police Service Hospital, and Jambojet supplied 23 passengers and four crew (Citizen Digital, 8 Oct). That supersedes our "10 quarantined" line. Africa CDC says he crossed into Uganda by road and flew Jambojet on 3 Oct (Africa CDC via AP, in Kenyans.co.ke, 10 Oct).
Our inference: the memo covers government events only; private corporate meetings are not mentioned.
🎯 So what: if a ministry or state agency holds a block with you, get cancel, move or hold in writing and check your force-majeure clause before the next block date.

3️⃣ KPC's oil workers have served a seven-day strike notice, and talks began 9 Oct

The Kenya Petroleum Oil Workers Union (George Okoth) cites collective-agreement terms, allowances and restructuring. KPC says talks are under way with the Federation of Kenya Employers (Kenyans.co.ke, 10 Oct). The notice date and expiry are not published. A strike would delay deliveries nationwide. EPRA's review is due 14 Oct.
🎯 So what: lodges on generators and long transfers should hold a 7–10 day diesel buffer before 14 Oct. That is our judgment, not a KPC warning.
