🌆 Evening Wrap · Wed 28 Oct 2026

━━━━━━━━━
1️⃣ Uganda Airlines began four weekly Entebbe–Accra flights on 27 October, its 18th destination, with return fares from US$550

The Boeing 737-800 flies about five hours. The airline's acting CEO, Girma Wake, pitched Ghanaian visitors for Uganda's wildlife; the minister's emphasis was agricultural trade (Uganda Media Centre, 28 Oct). The launch is the one we diarised on 5 Oct.
Our inference: Ghana is a small source market and Accra has screened Kenya-linked arrivals since 21 Oct, so treat this as West African upside, not a 2027 plan.
🎯 So what: if you sell Uganda, add one West African agent to your rate-sheet mailing this month.

2️⃣ DRC's Ebola outbreak passed 10,000 confirmed cases, with 10,060 cases and 4,887 deaths at 25 October
That is 423 more cases and 241 more deaths than WHO's 19 October count we cited on 22 Oct, though the sources differ. Ituri holds 71.7% of cases; 66 health zones in 8 of 26 provinces are affected. The report lists DRC, Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria, plus one imported case in France (Xinhua via The Independent Uganda, 27 Oct, citing DRC health authorities). Uganda itself says it has no active cases.
Our inference: the source outbreak is still growing, so Kenya's 42-day clock is the only part of this on a timer.
🎯 So what: price US and European Ebola questions as a months-long issue, not a weeks-long one.

3️⃣ ECDC rates Ebola infection risk for European visitors to Kenya as low, while two US agencies report no Kenya booking impact
ECDC's 27 Oct statement, announcing experts for Nigeria, says infection risk for Europeans living in or travelling to affected areas in Kenya and Nigeria is low with precautions, and risk to the EU very low. It gives no travel restrictions (ECDC, 27 Oct). Two US luxury agencies, Extraordinary Journeys and Greatways Travel, told Tourism Update they see no tangible Kenya impact; no figures given (Tourism Update, 27 Oct).
Our inference: agent comments are anecdote, not data, and the US Level 3 advisory has bitten before.
🎯 So what: quote ECDC's wording to European agents; ask US agents for actual cancellation counts.
