Kenya's Ebola quarantine releases and the US no-DRC boarding rule both start on 3 November, and no all-clear date can yet be computed

━━━━━━━━━
1️⃣ Kenya's Ebola quarantine releases and the US no-DRC boarding rule both start on 3 November

Kenya. The Ministry of Health said on 26 October that 20 contacts had finished 21 days of monitoring and gone home, and that the remaining 98 are due out in four groups from 3 November. It also said the outbreak "had not yet been contained" (Citizen Digital, 26 Oct). Confirmed cases stood at nine with two deaths; travel, trade and public gatherings remain unrestricted (Citizen Digital, 22 and 26 Oct).

The end date. The outbreak can only be declared over 42 days after the last confirmed patient has two negative tests at least 48 hours apart and is discharged or buried (Citizen Digital, 26 Oct). No discharge date has been published.
Our inference: the 42-day clock has not started, so no end date can be computed and any "Kenya clear by December" claim is unsupported.

The US rule. From 11:59 pm Eastern on 3 November to 18 December, every passenger on a US-bound flight must declare whether they were in the DRC in the previous 21 days. Airlines verify before boarding; anyone who was there generally cannot board until Day 22 (CDC rule as reported by InsideFlyer, 26 Oct). Only the DRC is named; Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda are not.
🎯 So what: keep Ebola-free wording in US-market confirmations, tell US guests to expect a boarding form at Nairobi, Entebbe and Kigali, and do not discount on the festive season until the Ministry publishes an end-of-outbreak date.
