━━━━━━━━━
1️⃣ Uganda bought itself a seat at the 2027 AFCON, and the hotel work starts with packages
What happened. The Uganda Tourism Board signed an official destination sponsorship agreement with the Confederation of African Football at the Kampala Marriott on Friday 30 October. "Explore Uganda – The Pearl of Africa" will run on AFCON broadcasts, digital content and in-stadium advertising. UTB is the first regional sponsor named for the tournament, which Uganda co-hosts with Kenya and Tanzania in June 2027, the first three-nation AFCON (New Vision, 31 Oct).
What was not said. The article gives no hotel figures, occupancy targets or booking projections. UTB plans match-plus-wildlife, culture and food packages and a "HERE FOR IT" campaign "in the coming weeks"; the State Minister for Tourism told operators to build competitive packages; the Deputy Speaker called for investment in accommodation, transport and security (New Vision, 31 Oct).
Our inference: the sponsorship buys visibility, not rooms. Only operators with a priced package can convert it.
🎯 So what: if you are in Kampala, Entebbe or on the gorilla and Murchison circuits, price a match-plus-safari package now and hold June 2027 inventory back from net-rate contracts until UTB publishes its campaign details.

2️⃣ Kenya's Ebola countdown: first of four release groups leaves quarantine tomorrow
Not new, but dated: 46 contacts are due out on 3 November (Capital FM, 31 Oct). The Ministry reported nine cases and no community transmission on 22 Oct and no end-of-outbreak date (Citizen Digital, 22 Oct, modified 2 Nov). We found no new case after 22 Oct, but the Ministry's own pages were not opened.
🎯 So what: unchanged from Saturday. Keep Ebola-free wording factual; do not discount on a recovery nobody has dated.
